With the fluctuating costs of natural gas and the government's push towards greater energy efficiency, you may be considering a replacement boiler. Many older properties still have a regular boiler, which you may want to upgrade to a combi boiler. Both types of boilers have their own individual advantages and drawbacks.
A combi boiler is different to a regular boiler as it heats your hot water as and when it is needed, so when you turn on your hot tap it heats the water as it passes through the boiler. A regular boiler requires a separate hot water cylinder (normally located in an airing cupboard).
A combi boiler can save a considerable amount of space, which can be particularly beneficial if you have a small property. Combi boilers can result in significant savings on hot water costs, and can generally save you money on installation time and costs, due to the fact that there is no tank in the roof space, meaning less pipe work and a shorter installation time.
